ClarityFP uses artificial intelligence to generate financial insights, summaries, variance analysis, and recommendations. This disclaimer explains how AI is used, its limitations, and how you should interpret AI-generated content.
4.1 How We Use AI
ClarityFP uses Claude, an AI system developed by Anthropic, to generate the following types of content:
- Daily financial summaries on your dashboard
- Management accounts commentary and executive summaries
- Variance analysis explanations (why a KPI changed)
- Anomaly detection and alerts (unusual patterns in your financial data)
- Cash flow scenario modelling
- Responses to natural language queries via "Ask ClarityFP"
- Proactive insights and recommendations in the Insights feed
4.2 Limitations of AI-Generated Content
- AI-generated content is based solely on the financial data available within ClarityFP. It does not have access to external market data, industry news, or information outside your connected accounting system unless explicitly provided in your query.
- AI analysis is probabilistic. It can be wrong. Always verify material figures against your accounting system before acting on AI-generated insights.
- AI-generated forecasts and cash flow projections are estimates based on historical patterns. They are not guarantees of future performance.
- The "Ask ClarityFP" feature may occasionally produce responses that are imprecise or based on incomplete context. If a response does not look right, check the underlying data.
- AI commentary in management accounts has been generated automatically. It should be reviewed and edited by a qualified finance professional before being shared with investors, lenders, or other external parties.
4.3 AI Does Not Constitute Professional Advice
AI-generated content from ClarityFP does not constitute:
- Regulated financial advice (as defined by the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000)
- Accountancy or audit advice
- Tax advice
- Legal advice
- Investment advice
For any of the above, you should consult a qualified and regulated professional.
4.4 Data Privacy in AI Processing
Your financial data is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for AI processing. Anthropic processes this data under a data processing agreement with ClarityFP. Anthropic does not use customer data submitted via the API to train its AI models. AI-generated responses are cached temporarily (typically 24 hours) to reduce API calls and improve performance. Cached data is stored on UK servers. We do not share identifiable financial data with any AI provider other than Anthropic.
4.5 Accuracy of Financial Data
ClarityFP presents financial data as received from your accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) or as entered manually. ClarityFP does not verify, audit, or guarantee the accuracy of this data. If your accounting records contain errors, those errors will be reflected in ClarityFP. Always reconcile ClarityFP figures against your accounting system if discrepancies arise.
